North American gaming and esports company Enthusiast Gaming has announced a multi-year collaboration with the National Football League (NFL).

The deal includes the launch of NFL Tuesday Night Gaming (NFL TNG), a weekly series streamed on YouTube that features NFL players and legends competing alongside gaming content creators.

Enthusiast-owned esports organisation Luminosity Gaming will be integrated into the series by featuring its content creators. The announcement highlighted that other esports organisations may be involved, but did not reveal details.

The series, which will commence on September 13th, is set to take place during the 2022-2023 NFL regular season. NFL TNG will primarily see teams compete against each other across video game titles. Details regarding which games will be used have not been disclosed.

According to a release, there will be a rotating roster of 12 NFL players or legends as well as six gaming creators competing across three game titles each week. Teams are ranked at the end of the week’s gameplay.

The top four teams will qualify for a single-elimination playoff and the first season will conclude with an ‘All-Star Game’ coinciding with Super Bowl week. The winning team will receive a cash prize to donate to a charity of their choice.

Alongside the programme, the multi-year partnership also includes daily content throughout the season. This includes NFL TNG pre- and post-game analysis, highlights, and plays of the week. In bye weeks, Enthusiast Gaming will host the NFL Family Game Night, designed for families and younger fans to play alongside their favourite pro players and gamers.

Joe Ruggiero, SVP of Consumer Products at the NFL, commented: “The NFL is excited to collaborate with Enthusiast Gaming on this first-of-its-kind content series for the League.

“NFL Tuesday Night Gaming will be a unique addition to our weekly schedule that embraces the broader gaming community through an entertaining mix of NFL stars and video gaming culture.”

This is Enthusiast Gaming’s first major partnership since the company announced its financial results for H1 2022. The company revealed a net loss of $26.05m (~£21.56m) for the first half of the year. However, Enthusiast did report increased revenues for both Q2 and H1.
